Greetings family,
I heard a quote the other day and it really struck me:
Perfectionism is another form of procrastination.
And I can’t help but agree with it.
You see, I’ve fallen victim to perfectionism more often than not. And what I’ve realized is that whenever I do, a project that could’ve been completed in 3–5 days ends up taking over two weeks. And the excuse I give myself is always the same: “It’s not perfect” or “I’m not ready yet.”
But one thing about life is that the conditions will never be perfect. You will never be ready. You just have to take imperfect action.
Because there’s someone out there who wants what you want—and they’re willing to move and act without the “right,” or should I say “perfect” conditions. And the truth is, such a person who is willing to take imperfect action will beat you every time.
So my message here is simple: we need to take action regardless of some imperfections.
Showing up consistently with 70% is better than showing up occasionally with 100%.
This is a reminder to myself as well.
Let us take imperfect action.
Once again I am grateful to have you here on this journey with me.
We’ll talk again soon.
Much love,
Cedric Turakira
