Greetings family,
In this week’s email I want to talk about Commitment to the process when it gets hard.
Let’s face the music head-on. At the beginning of the journey the energy is high and the motivation to show up is almost effortless. It’s basically all sunshine and rainbows.
But as we all know those feelings eventually fade away, and we are faced with the brutal reality of what the process actually looks like.
When that happens, showing up consistently all of a sudden requires more effort and will power.
But that’s precisely when it matters most.
That’s when those who said they wanted it, but didn’t mean it, are weeded out from those who actually did.
That’s when you are tested to see How bad you actually want it.
And if you want it bad enough, you must be ready to endure the hardships that the pursuit of your goals will bring your way — Because they are guaranteed.
One thing that has helped me the most when I face those challenges, is remembering that the difficulty is what gives it value.
Let me put that into perspective. Gold holds value because it isn’t easy to come by. It has to be mined from deep within the ground, a process that demands labor, patience, and persistence. The difficulty is what gives it worth.
Now let’s look at the opposite. Take something like dirt. It’s everywhere. Anyone can get it, at any time, with little to no effort. Because it’s easy to obtain and endlessly available, it holds little to no value.
That’s the perspective shift: the struggle isn’t a sign you’re on the wrong path—it’s proof that what you’re chasing is worth something. And that should excite you as you commit to enduring the process.
I say all this to say. Expect it to be hard. Expect resistance. Because in the end, the reward carries weight only because of what it took to earn it.
Once again I am grateful to have you here on this journey with me.
We’ll talk again soon.
Much love,
Cedric Turakira
